I’ve been attending guitar lessons at Guildford Guitar Lessons from Alex for about a year now. In that time, he’s opened my eyes to the world of music, and given me the confidence to believe in myself, given that I’m not exactly the youngest student in the world! He’s an amazingly talented and gifted musician, capable of teaching in a wide variety of styles like blues, jazz, rock, funk – just about anything you’d want. He has a great ability of being able to evaluate where you are, where your interests lie, and focus on what you really need to know in order to move forward. Best of all, he’s become more than just my teacher, and I consider him a good friend. I would not hesitate to recommend!

After a 20 year break from playing the guitar I turned to Alex for help and guidance. Alex listened to my needs and then tailored his teaching and advice. I then felt I needed a framework to my guitar “journey” but then, rather than simply agreeing to my direction, he helped me re-think my fundamental ideas and this is resulting in a happy voyage of musical discovery.

Alex is a great and teacher with vast knowledge in all genre of music
he is extremely generous with passing on his gathered knowledge over past 3o years . Highly recommend, him ,great studio and if you like to learn about gears , amps , tonality, he is your man . His lessons are structured and well prepared . I have had fe guitar teacheres in past , but none come close to him . Highly recommend Guildford guitar school , great value for money

We couldn’t be happier with Alex’s approach to teaching our 11-year old son. He makes learning fun and current eg teaching our son to play scales along to a backing track, and keeps his interest by getting his ideas on what song he’d like to play next. Lessons include a great variety of activities which keeps it all interesting and motivating. Alex goes above and beyond, eg he made a drum backing track for our son to learn to play along with ahead of a music competition at school. Could not recommend Alex highly enough!

I’ve been having guitar lessons for about 8 months now and have really enjoyed having Alex as my teacher. The lessons are relaxed but informative and Alex is very patient, tailoring the lessons so that even after some months of learning, I’m still really enjoying playing.

Alex is a great teacher who makes learning both practical and theory fun and engaging. In just a few lessons I feel like I have made giant leaps forward with my guitar playing. He is also a cool guy with excellent and varied taste in music.

Alex is the most fantastic teacher. I learn banjo with him – and it’s my favourite thing. He tabs anything I want, he sets me up with videos to keep me going, and he creates backing tracks for me to play with in between lessons – at the speed I need them. I always have fun and I’ve learned so much in the last 6 months or so I’ve been having lessons. He’s the best music teacher, and I cannot recommended him enough to anyone.
